On September 4th 2009, Idmiston Primary changed its name to St. Nicholas' CE VA Primary School, Porton. The change in name from was initiated to signify a new era for the school, to celebrate and reinforce their close link with their Parish Church (St. Nicholas', Porton) and to raise the profile of the school in the community.
