At the end of our unit of study on Judaism a chance remark by one of the Year 2 children “There aren’t any synagogues in Great Britain “, led to us investigating a visit to one. We contacted the Diocesan Board who put us in touch with Lynda Ford-Horne who proved to be a great support in planning our day.

Bishop Stephen personally endorsed a set of resources produced by the Salisbury Diocesan Board of Education. A book of children’s prayers and two resource packs were launched by Bishop Stephen during an assembly at Sarum St Paul’s on Friday 27th November.

The Diocese of Salisbury, Bryanston School and Wiltshire Council, sponsors of the development of a new Academy in Salisbury, have received official government approval. Ed Balls, Secretary of State for the Department of Children, Schools and Families, confirmed that the academy bid for 11-19 year olds will go into its next phase, a feasibility study.

Over one hundred 10 to 11 year olds from six Church of England Primary schools in and around Warminster met together in the Assembly Rooms in Warminster one Tuesday in July, for their very own RE conference. The aim of the day was to explore some of the questions that children of this age ask about God.
