Schools and Governors

Welcome to the Salisbury Diocese Board of Education advisory team for schools and parishes. Individual officers are on hand to support all your educational needs whether it is through school, governor, children and youth development.

The Real Rope Bridge The whole team contributes, often collaboratively, to offer a wide range of services. A fine example is our Year 6 Celebration in the Cathedral each year which engages the whole aspect of our service to young people, bringing together primary and secondary pupils in preparation for their future, as seen here in the photograph.

Behind the scenes it takes our schools’ officers, the Young Sarum Team, governors, clergy and many outside links to bring to fruition a year’s planning. The event celebrates ( in words, drama, music and visual arts ) the passage from childhood to the secondary phase of education. The metaphor of ‘Crossing the Bridge’ was actually substantiated by constructing a real rope bridge for the 2005 Service.
