School Improvement & Development
The process of school improvement can be defined as "a systematic, sustained effort aimed at change in learning conditions and other related conditions in school, with the ultimate aim of accomplishing educational goals more effectively."(Van Velzen et al. 1985)
We provide advice and support to school governors, head teachers and staff on:
-
Awareness and training of the Christian distinctiveness of church schools, with the specific responsibility for maintaining Christian values and standards
-
Ofsted and SIAS Inspection
-
Staff appointments
-
Church, clergy and community liaison with schools
-
Statutory processes
-
Establishing a distinctively Christian response to the key issues in current educational thinking alongside our Local Authority provision
We believe teaching and learning are at the heart of school improvement and are the core business of schools such that we are continually developing strategies for providing the best possible education for the young people of Salisbury Diocese in collaboration with all those concerned for their development.
